Moxie the Harp Player
There was once a harp player named Moxie. Moxie was blessed with pretty eyes and a golden lung and heart arteries. She was brilliant in her own mind and many people were her friends. I did not predict that Moxie would devolve into playing horror music on her harp, but one day in visiting with Moxie, I heard a horrible tune that sounded like Friday the 13th. It was scary and I was really unable to sleep for a week after that. I asked her to just play happy music, but she did not comply with my request. The following summer Moxie started playing Beethovens 5th but then progressed into the theme from Halloween. I again had night mares and swore I may never listen to Moxie's harp playing. But her daughter issued a notice that Moxie was really happy and that she no longer wished to frighten her children and their friends. So I again went back to hear Moxie play. This time she played beautifully. She began with some Bach and then proceded to play a Wagner song which was really marvelous. I was amazed by Moxies talents. I was about to leave when Moxie put the harp away and walked out of the room. When she returned she had a knife in her hand and she cut all of the strings on the harp. Then I asked what she was upset about and she told me that I was the problem and that my concerns about her music made her abandon her gift entirely. I was sad to see this but of course, strings can be fixed as can human relationships and lives of all of our friends. So if you see Moxie, tell her how much you loved that Wagner that you heard on the radio played by another harpist from Portugal. It wasn't her but you heard how much she liked Wagner. But if she tells you that she wants to play the Poltergeist tune, tell her that you'll pass on visiting.
