Living in the Magical Forest

There was once a hose in the forest of the Tree God. It was a beautiful hose and it usually kept its nozzle very clean.  It would spray lots of baklava into the forest that all of the children might be able to eat if they chose to do so.  The hose was harsh because if you ate its baklava, you didn't want for very much but you had that hose around your knees for the rest of your years.  That was ok becuase it kept you away from the trees and that is exactly why the Tree God made a big hose in his forest.  The hose was painted Green and Black and it looked dangerous to any onlooker. It had its own distinct home in a place where Trees often grew but never liked their sunlight.  That was ok with the Tree God because trees decorated every forest he might produce. There were weeds too and they sprouted all day and all of the night.   But the weeds were not trees and the trees did not love to be around the weeds unless the weeds were really pretty and smelled like a pleasant aroma. Fortunatly a ton of the weeds met this specification.  But that said the weeds sometimes could change their genetic make up and become trees.  Usually the Tree God had to approve this but it was always a chance that any weed could do this if the weed really knew the fact that he did have a changable genetic code.  He did not need to be a tree because the Tree God loved all of his trees and did not solicit weeds to grow into trees. But a determined weed might actually become the happiest tree in the forest if was really sincere about becoming a real Tree.  That was good and the Tree God was happy.  The weeds always grew and there was never going to be a world without weeds.  They just made the forest floor warm and that was why the Tree God made them exist. But that said, sometimes the weeds were not very good for the trees.  That was the way it was.  The tree God  did not care though, he would use the hose to water those weeds some of the time and other times he let them grow with some sunlight that the trees always let through to the forest floor. It was a beautiful forest and the trees had a good day even if the weeds wanted to smother them.  Noone could remove a tree unless the Tree God saw that it was indeed damaged.  Otherwise even the ugliest tree with a bad canopy was allowed to exist. But that said the trees did not understand how to live all the time.  Some did not like the tree called Power becuase it was too strong and they did not understand that it was happy and true but it did not solicit other trees to accompany it. It stood alone.  So many of the trees clung to the tree called Power but only a few trees hated Power.  They were not very nice trees and sometimes they tried to steal Power's gemstones that encrusted his roots and lower trunk. Power let this happen all the time, but if someone took one of his gems, the gems no longer shone in the sun and they only smelled like rotten oranges and rancid limes.  It was Power's strategy. If a Tree did not like Power it would just make the other trees who loved Power look strong.  If that tree who did not like Power ever decided to refriend Power, it was given its smell back and all those gems it took would mysteriously vanish and the rancid smells would go away forever if it kept the Power tree in its friend book.
So Power had alot of power and the other trees knew it and loved the Tree God even the more.  The Tree God enjoyed apples from all of the trees that loved Power, but he always made sure that the other trees knew that he, the Tree God, could make a tree that might live forever but have only basketballs as fruit.  Everyone realized that this was not a useful tree but it inspired the Trees to hold fast to Power for sure.  I liked the idea of a tree that made basketballs because then all the children who played in the forest could have a fun time bouncing the balls off the trees.  They would invariably forget about the stump named Pickles and the trees would be the only interst to the children in that day.  That said, I really don't think that the Tree God wants to make any such basketball producing Tree.  It might make the forest really fun to be a child in, but really the trees were all giving such good apples to the Tree God that the Tree God was happy with the forest for all of the future day.  So if you want to play basketball have a good day.  It's a fun sport and there will always be basketballs for children.  They just probably wont grow on a Tree.  Thanks!
