Gone is the card game

I once played cards
It was of the best in the day
It was fun to play the games
And sort the deck

But one day along came a number
And it tasted like a little ham and eggs
And it never spit at me
And I swallowed it whole

So today, I leave the cards behind
And the taste in my mouth is bland
And thirteen years of bad luck
Might leave me alone

If only I had another deck.
