Allowance of Honesty

I saw you in the board room
And you said hello at last
For the door was just closing
And you were not getting past

For the world is quite large
And I am just a man
For the children are greedy
And the wifes are home in their stead

But the world is not too privy
Of a woven arm of impunity
And the cows are not too cowish
In their light of promiscuity

But you said you were my love
And I said I was good for the day
And you wanted to say pretty
And I was going about my own way

But that was the way it was
And you are not white with esteem
For I found you were faithless
And you found me too extreme

I canceled my check to the sleeve
And you asked me for a new reprieve
And I noted you in space and time
And blessings found a new dime
